American Idol alum [mp3com-artist]Danny Gokey[/mp3com-artist], who lost his wife three years ago after a routine heart surgery, is engaged to be married!

Gokey, took to the website dedicated to his late wife, Sophia’s Heart, to announce the happy news.

Danny and new fiancee Leyicet Peralta plan to marry at the end of January 2012.

Just hours ago, Gokey took to Twitter and posted this message. While it has anything to do with his recent engagement, it seems like fitting words for the moment.

No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending—

The couple also shared the following statement:
