From run-ins with the law to nuptials on the beach, Jake Owen had quite a weekend.

First he nearly got himself arrested in Florida during Cinco de Mayo, an incident that was apparently due to a misunderstanding.

“He had a mask on, some type (of mask) that looked like an older man,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Jeff Luther told the Treasure Coast Palm. “At the time, the deputy didn’t know what he had.” Contrary to some reports, Luther told TC Palm that “he was not arrested.”

Next he fueled the flames by sending out a series of tweets about the incident–before apologizing (also via Twitter) for his behavior.

Y'all I apologize. The IRC Sheriff was doing their job. I love hometown. I had too good of a time on Cinco de Mayo.—

The weekend ended on a high note, though, as today he got married.

Jake and his fiancé, Lacey Buchanan, tied the knot this morning in a sunrise ceremony in his home town of Vero Beach, Florida.

A best friend for life. I now have a wifey my face hurts from smiling. What a wonderful way to start the rest of my life.—
