The Josh Abbott Band have already released three country CDs since their inception in the mid-2000s but their latest single “Touch” off their third album Small Town Family Dream is bound to make them a household name. The song bears a message of desire and immense need for a significant other’s touch, but the video brings patriotism and the deep felt tortures to those who lost their loved ones in battle.
The video begins with a ghostly feel, as a woman, played by TV personality Melissa Rycroft, sits distraught in her own thoughts. Throughout the video, shots of war scenes flash between dark, gut-wrenching moments of a women and her own inner battles with loss. It’s a common theme among those who have lost an important person in the military.
The twist in the video really gives a person goosebumps as a message scrolls at the end of the video: ‘In memory of the brave men and women who gave their lives protecting our country.’ Evan Kaufmann, the mastermind behind the band’s last three videos, also directed “Touch.”
Fans of the CW hit show Hart of Dixie had a taste of the song when it was featured in their first season finale in May.
