Joe Walsh will be featured in a new edition of CMT Crossroads this weekend. CMT Crossroads: Joe Walsh and Friends–featuring the Eagles guitarist, James Gang member, session player, and solo artist alongside a handful of top country artists–premieres Saturday, June 23, at 11pm ET on CMT.
“Nothing beats country music with a little rock ‘n’ roll sprinkled on top,” Walsh told CMT. “We’re going to mix up a batch and see what happens.”
Guests on the program include Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Hunter Hayes, and Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
“He was an awesome guy, and you’re always freaked out when you meet guys like that,” Luke Bryan said of Walsh in a recent interview with CBS Houston station KILT. But guys like Walsh, he says, “they have a way of making you feel comfortable. It was a fun situation. I’m certainly very thankful I was asked to be a part of it.”
Bryan also revealed that he’ll sing “Life’s Been Good” on the program (“by myself”).
Walsh is probably best known today as a member of the Eagles, which he joined in late 1975, just in time for Hotel California. Before that he was a member of the James Gang, who created several rock staples during the 1970s, including “Funk #49″ and “Walk Away.” He’s also recorded several songs under his own name, such as “Life’s Been Good” and “Rocky Mountain Way.”
CMT Crossroads: Joe Walsh and Friends premieres on Saturday, June 23 at 11pm ET/PT on CMT.
