Congratulations to Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band and his wife Kasey on the birth of their first child: daughter Kline Olivia Diaz entered the world in Dallas, Texas Monday night. Mike tells us how excited he is.

“I feel like I accomplished something quite special there,” he says. “A career is one thing, but making a baby’s another.”

Congratulations are also in order for Eric Church. His album Chief has gone platinum, and his single Springsteen has seen two weeks on the charts at number one. Eric celebrated with family, friends, and people from the music industry, where he reflected on his success.

“There are moments,” Eric said, “in your life when you just want to kind of pause and go, ‘Is this my life?’ and this is one of them. I mean, it’s been an unreal year, from Chief coming out to Springsteen, Drink in My Hand before that…”

Billy Ray Cyrus has some big moments of his own to look forward to. His Broadway debut in Chicago will be on November 5th. He’s currently doing publicity in New York to promote the production.

And best wishes to Toby Keith who had surgery Tuesday. His gallbladder was removed.
