This has been a particularly depressing year. It seems like there’s just been one terrible tragedy after another, and it’s starting to really get to us.
A new Harris poll found Americans are less happy than ever. (Or since this poll started running this poll in 2008 anyway.) On a scale of one to 100, the average person’s happiness is a 31. That’s pretty bad.
But there is a silver lining: Even though it’s not clear how things are going to get better, we’re pretty sure they are going to. 72% of Americans say they’re optimistic about the future.
