Blackhawks’ Corey Crawford Is Helping To Raise Money For Police Bulletproof Vests

The Chicago Blackhawks are teaming up with the Chicago Police Memorial Fund to help raise money to buy new bulletproof vests for the Chicago Police Department.

When they first enter the department, police are given a bulletproof vest, but after that, they are responsible for buying their own vests. Vests need to be replaced every five years, or after a vest is hit by a bullet.

Replacement vests cost $500.

The “Get Behind the Vest” campaign has already raised enough money to buy 6,100 new vests, but hopes to raise another $4 million to buy 8,000 more.
