Are you having girl problems? Chris Lane feels you… sort of. The country singer with the distinctive falsetto voice releases his new album, Girl Problems, today. Although he tells Radio.com that the title was a bit tongue-in-cheek.
“I thought it would be quite funny to call it Girl Problems. As I listened to the songs, and looked at the song titles, I started noticing a very similar theme: almost every song seemed to talk about some type of girl problem. I knew I’d get some funny interview questions about it, but I was inviting it in.”
Pop superstar Selena Gomez is one female who hasn’t caused him a problem: although he’s never met her, he’s gotten a decent amount of press out of her comment that his song “Fix” was her favorite song, in a recent interview.

“I saw a whole bunch of people retweeting that. That was so cool, I’m a huge fan of hers. That was an awesome shout out, I’ll take it!” He adds that he’d gladly do a remix of the song with her.
“Fix” appeals to rock dudes as well; Chris Daughtry is also a fan. “I’m a huge fan of his,” Lane says. “He’s someone I look up to. The fact that he said he loved ‘Fix’ was really cool for me.”

The song has been a great introduction for Lane, who hopes fans love the rest of Girl Problems as well. “The feedback on ‘Fix’ has been great. I’ve been on a radio tour; you put in all that hard work, and you don’t really know what to expect. Everything kind of changed: people were showing up to the shows, and during ‘Fix’ I could hold the mic out to the crowd and everybody knew every word. It was the coolest feeling for me.”
Girl Problems is out now, and follow Chris Lane’s tour dates on Eventful.
