LISTEN: Keith Urban’s New Single, ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color’

Keith Urban’s fourth single off RipCORD is ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color.’

The first three singles on off the album have had major success, with ‘Break on Me’ and ‘Wasted Time’ reaching the #1 spot on country radio, and ‘John Cougar, John Deere, and John 3:16’ reaching the #2 spot.

The latest single was influenced by his late-father’s love for Don Williams.

“[T]hat kind of strong downbeat, backbeat and little in-between rhythmic thing that is very, very Don Williams … really informed so much of how I play and how I rhythmically approach records,” Keith Urban said to The Boot. “[“Blue Ain’t Your Color”] is a very, very stark, minimalistic way of recording, which really comes from those records that Don and Garth Fundis did …

“Don also had that attitude, too, like, the song is the picture, and the record is the frame. You’ve got to find the right frame, not too much and not too little, to make the picture really work,” Urban adds. “So for the songs that don’t need much, like “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” my dad’s record collection obviously has informed that a lot.”

Keith Urban brings his RipCORD World Tour to the Allstate Arena in October, with Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris!
