‘Mad Men’ Fans: Heinz Is Now Using The Ad Pitched By Don Draper

This might be the best idea I’ve ever heard!

Heinz is using the ad created by the fictional Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce ad agency as their current ad!

In the episode ‘To Have and to Hold’ during season 6 of Mad Men, Don Draper and Stan Rizzo pitch the ad, ‘Pass the Heinz,’ to Heinz executives.

While the executives on the show wanted the famous Heinz bottle in the ad, as well as the ad to say ‘Heinz Ketchup,’ Don wanted them to realize that they didn’t need the bottle, or the ‘Ketchup.’ The name said it all.

While Don and Stan’s pitch wasn’t successful on the show, it is successful now!  Heinz is using the ad on billboards in NYC and used on their social media.

Love it!

Now I feel the need to go back to season 1, episode 1, and watch the series all over again.
