Miranda gives Chicago and Joe’s major shout outs while hanging backstage with Kimmie at the ACMs.
If you were one of the lucky people who won the lottery for tickets to her rehearsal show at Joe’s on Weed earlier this year, you know that Miranda is one of the most amazing live performers in the business.
Which doesn’t come as a surprise as she has 25 ACM Awards at home, and is nominated for more tonight, including Album of the Year for The Weight of These Wings.
Even with so many wins, the experience is still humbling for the country star.
It’s still a surprise and exciting to be apart of it,” she said of her scheduled performance at the show and the nominations.
If you’ve listened to the album, you know that Miranda lets us into her deepest personal emotions through her songs, telling Kimmie that she, “felt like [she] needed to go for it.”
“I had a lot of life to live and a lot of things to say. So I just did it and hope it worked.”
[I still cry while listening to ‘Tin Man,’ so it worked, Miranda. Very much so.]
Miranda also talked about her second passion: mutts.
“Music and mutts are the two things I do,” she joked to Kimmie backstage.
Her foundation, Mutt Nation, raises money to help improve shelters as well as raise awareness for shelter dogs and adoption.
Last year alone, they had 999 dogs leave the shelters and go into loving homes!
Thank you for ALL that you do, Miranda.
