NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Keeping you up-to-date on all things country music, “The Pickup” starts off with a special look at a special night at The Grand Ole Opry. Reba McEntire recently celebrated the 40th Anniversary since her debut on the world-renowned stage, and was in for quite the surprise when she was joined on stage by Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton to celebrate.
Pop/Country crossover hitmakers Exile are celebrating their fans with a free show at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon on October 17. With soon-to-be announced guests, the show will help the band kick of their “No Limits Tour” in 2018 celebrating their 55th Anniversary.
Last time “The Pickup” shared sad news of the passing of Troy Gentry. What better way to lift the spirits a little than with new music? Montgomery Gentry’s new single, “Better Me,” is out now, along with a letter from Eddie Montgomery addressing fans. He says that the song speaks volumes about Gentry’s life and everyone he touched.
Country music idol Luke Bryan has been confirmed as one of the judges for the new season of American Idol. He will be joined by fellow judge Katy Perry and the original host Ryan Seacrest. The new ABC version of the hit show returns to television in 2018.
“The Pickup” got the chance to catch up with trio Cadillac 3 about their latest album, Legacy, where they shared that some of the album’s vocals were recorded on a moving bus.
Hot country duo Big & Rich stopped by “The Pickup” headquarters where they talked about their latest album, Did It for the Party. The album is available on iTunes, Amazon or wherever music is sold.
While “Fix A Drink’ may have been a summer anthem, the fun is continuing into fall with the release of Chris Janson’s sophomore album, Everybody. “The Pickup” caught up with Janson at his record label’s music row office where he discussed the connection between “Fix A Drink” and politics.
